ReplyDeleteI read your post and I was taken back by how bad the water situation is in Haiti. The fact that children are dying from just drinking water is a very alarming thing. With diseases like typhoid and cholera present in the water, it is almost like a death sentence for these poor children. I think the best way to start getting funding for countries like Haiti is by spreading the word through social media such as youtube ads and facebook posts. Because evidently for this situation to get better the country needs funding, and other countries will not know unless the need is advertised. And I believe that it is our job as social workers to help advertise because in this case we are not just spreading awareness, but in fact, we are saving lives. Because it is inhumane to live a life where drinking water to quench your thirst gives you a death sentence.
